Joanne Vincenten, Director

Joanne Vincenten has served as the Director of the European Child Safety Alliance since 2000. She manages and leads an active network with more than 30 countries and 3 international societies to enhance policy development, best practice application and strategic alliances for child injury prevention throughout Europe.
Joanne is originally from Canada and she has worked in the injury prevention field at the regional, national and international levels for more than 19 years. She has partnered, consulted and been employed with academic and medical institutions, NGOs, government and industry within the realm of public health in various leadership roles.
Joanne holds a Bachelors degree in Physical Education, and a Masters degree in Health Policy and Promotion. She has authored and contributed to a number of policy documents, articles and chapters for child safety in Europe and serves as an expert advisor to the European Commission, UNICEF and WHO. Joanne also serves on the Stakeholder Dialogue Group of the Director General of Health for Europe and is a Past President of the European Public Health Alliance.

Morag MacKay has served as Programme Manager at the European Child Safety Alliance since September 2004. She currently manages the TACTICS project and in the past managed the Child Safety Action Plan (CSAP) project. She is also responsible for coordination of data and research related activities for the Alliance.
Morag is originally from Canada and has worked in the injury prevention field at the regional, national and international levels for more than 20 years. Her professional activities have largely focused on the prevention and control of children's unintentional injuries and her contributions to the field have been in the areas of strategic planning for injury prevention, injury surveillance, education, research, program planning and evaluation.
Morag holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing Science, a Masters degree in Medical Science with a Specialization in Epidemiology and is currently working on her PhD. She has authored a number of articles and chapters related to child safety.

Natalie Norman has served as Project Officer for the European Child Safety Alliance since 2006. She is responsible for website content and for writing for a range of Alliance communications and resources including background papers, position statements, articles and fact sheets.
Natalie is an American originally from the Washington D.C. area who has resided in Europe since 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Middlebury College in Vermont. Before moving to Europe, she previously worked as publicist for a book publishing house based in Vermont, and later as a station relations officer for the national headquarters of the public television network Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). During her first years in Europe, she taught Business English and writing in corporate environments.
Mathilde Sengoelge, Research Associate

Mathilde also works as project leader for International Cooperations at the Austrian Road Safety Board, Vienna, Austria. In addition she acts as a consultant on violence prevention against women and children.
Her current injury focus is on child home safety in Europe and has published research articles in this theme.
Mathilde is French-American and has worked in injury prevention research and policy first in the United States at the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy and then in Austria with the Austrian Road Safety Board.
In addition to research projects Mathilde was the conference manager for the 1st European Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion held in Vienna, Austria in June 2006 and she was the conference manager for the World Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference, June 2004.
Mathilde holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Master of Public Health from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, She is currently registered as a PhD student with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm Sweden.
