Child Safety Action Plan (CSAP) Initiative recognised at international meeting

The International Society for Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention (ISCAIP) Conference in Bristol on Sept 20, 2010, a side event to the World Congress on Injury Prevention in London, provided a number of opportunities for the European Child Safety Alliance to share the CSAP initiative with a broader audience.

The CSAP II Final Report was launched at the event to participants attending from across the globe and received much support and interest. The European Child Safety Report Cards were also presented and discussed as a tool providing consistent and standard measures to benchmark child safety progress in countries and drive child injury prevention forward. A more detailed discussion for how the Child Safety Report Cards concept might be transferred to other countries will be held on September 23, 2010 during the World Congress.

The Alliance also presented a scientific poster at the ISCAIP Conference that highlighted the results and lessons learned from the past 6 years of the Child Safety Action Plan initiative, and were pleased to be recognised with a best poster award.
