UCL Institute of Health Equity Launches European Review

The Marmot Review team has launched a consultation on the social determinants of health in Europe.

The review looks at health inequalities within and between different European countries in the World Health Organisation (WHO) region.

The review is interested in responses from individuals and organisations from across the 53 countries of the European regions, from within all sectors and levels of government and has the following aims:

  • To stimulate debate on the social determinants of health and the reduction of health inequities within and between countries in the European Region
  • To build further political support, policy alliances and capacity for a social determinants approach across government and partner organizations
  • To gain input on the strategic conceptual approach developed so far by the review
  • To source evidence and examples of promising practice in tackling health inequities

The final report from this review will be launched in September 2012.
