Northern Ireland
Introduction
In spite of decreases over the last 20 years, injury remains the leading cause of child and adolescent death and disability in Northern Ireland.
Injury prevention work to address child and adolescent injury in Northern Ireland is led by the Ministries of Health and Transport. Northern Ireland is represented on the European Child Safety Alliance Steering Committee by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT).
The current priority areas for child and adolescent injury prevention and safety promotion in Northern Ireland include home safety and road safety.
